Psalm 135 - It Is Well.

Well, here I am again... I am led this evening to continue on my journey to complete the task that I started some three years ago. As I read this scripture today, I was torn  to comment on what I am sensing is God's message to me and on being sensitive to the feelings of  those that may not be at  a "place" where they can accept MY humble understandings and interpretations of the verse for me "at this time".

[ It just came to me that I say "at this time" because I really believe that if I were to begin this WHOLE project again that the scriptures would speak something entirely different than what I originally wrote. ]

I guess that is why the scripture is considered "living and breathing" -- no matter where I am in my spiritual walk, God' scripture will be applicable to my present situation!

We have started a NEW year (2012) and for my family, this NEW year brought some old and, unfortunately, familiar feelings of grief and pain as we once again lost a family member to tragic death.  Through this tragedy, God has revealed himself to me and members of my immediate family in some awesome ways -- yet, at the same time, the grief of the family most closely associated with the tragedy is in such pain that it is difficult for me to share the blessings the God has revealead.

I would like to share just ONE of the "God-incidences" that we have experienced.  My son that was most affected by the loss was sitting and reading a message from a dear ex-teacher of his and her message led him to a time of reflection.  As he reflected on her message, he decided to type in the search bar of YouTube "It Is Well".  In short order, the page opened with options of choosing several videos of artists singing the song.  He chooses one (by Wintley Phipps - an artist with which my son is unfamiliar) and as the video plays, Mr. Phipps sends a very private message:  (starts at about :53 secs). and my son in his very private moment came to believe that the message was sent BY God just FOR him "in compensation for all he had been through".

Now, for today's scripture: (from The Message)

I, too, give witness to the greatness of God,
our Lord, high above all other gods.
He does just as he pleases—
however, wherever, whenever.
God, your name is eternal,
God, you'll never be out-of-date.
God stands up for his people,
God holds the hands of his people.

You who fear God, bless God!

I know that I will NEVER be able to explain why tragedy hits (and re-hits) good families.  But this thing I firmly believe,

God is God - I am NOT!

He can and will do (and/or allow) "just as He pleases - however, wherever, whenever" and He owes me NO explanation.  I only know that he loves me through it all and that He promises (evidenced here) to "hold the hands of His people".

Yes, it was (and continues to be) and tough beginning of 2012, but through it all ~~

It IS well with my soul!!!
